Fall River, MA - Existing fluorescent residential lighting products save energy but fall short on measures of performance and overall aesthetics. In order to provide "green" fixtures that satisfy a variety of architectural lighting needs, Lightolier has introduced the Xceed Series. Xceed, the recently announced winner of the 2008 American Lighting Association's "Lighting for Tomorrow" award, was designed to eliminate the common concerns associated with compact fluorescent (CFL) light sources. Unlike other manufacturers that add fluorescent ballasts onto standard frames, Lightolier’s Xceed frame-in kits are specifically designed for CFL sources. The result is the most effective CFL product available today that meets the demanding energy needs of residential consumers without sacrificing lighting performance or styling.
Xceed frame-in kits are only 3-1/2" in height and offer a minimalist design that is well suited for residential-style applications such as single and multi-family homes, apartments, hospitality, and assisted living. The insulated ceiling, airseal® rated frames fit in small plenums, restricted ceiling spaces and can also be wall mounted. Over 20 new Xceed trims maximize the performance of CFL light sources. A high transmission solite® lens shields the lamp source to reduce glare, increase visual comfort and provide an incandescent look and feel. These fixtures provide up to 30% more visible light than a 65w BR30 incandescent lamp using only an 18w compact fluorescent. "In a home with 30 downlights, you’d save over $1500 in energy and lamp replacement costs over the life of the lamp," said Bob Wedekind, Vice President of Downlighting/Engineering Services for Lightolier.
Trims include round and square downlights and innovative slope/wall wash trim that accommodates both applications in one trim. All trims are UL listed for wet locations and are available in three finishes: Matte White, Clear Diffuse and the new Warm Diffuse finish for wood tones, all with white or polished flanges. Lightolier also offers a new indirect trim that can be wall mounted for a visually interesting up-light or step light.
Design features that maximize Xceed's performance and convenience include:
- Swivel-lock mounting bars and new top/bottom access junction boxes.
- 5" round and square apertures, ideal for residential applications.
- Energy Star and Title 24 ratings that meet all current code requirements.
- 26w dimming available as a standard in stock.
- A 2700k or 35000k CFL lamp is included with every frame, providing convenience and proven performance.
- 13w, 18w and 26w lamps use 1/3 the energy and outperform standard incandescent lamps.
